Korean Homemade Foods: Kimchi Pizza/Pancake and Rice Cake Soup

Hello again!

This is my second blog of the day. I feel like there is so much to blog about and there's so little time! I need to purchase skates for tomorrow!

I was at my boyfriend's place and he requested me to make Kimchi Pizza or Pancakes. I decided to surprise him with a second dish: Rice Cake Soup.

He ended up loving the Kimchi Pancakes. I was inspired by my Aunt's recipe of Korean Pancakes and tried to copy her. Yes, Rina, if you're reading this, your mom is an amazing vegetarian cook. Don't take her cooking for granted!

I used Korean Pizza Pancake batter mix, minced ginger, minced garlic, fresh corn on cob lightly steamed, green onion, kimchi and its juice, thinly sliced potatoes and salt.

My boyfriend told me the saltiness of the kimchi went well with the sweet crunchiness of the corn. I swear to God, he was moaning all sorts of sounds when he was eating. This was kind of interesting to see someone else performing my bad habits while eating. LOL!

I was nervous making the rice cake soup. It was my first time cooking this dish. I was so fusterated with this dish because no matter how much garlic, ginger, salt, soy sauce, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and other stuff, it didn't improve the flavour of the soup. I was so fusterated, I got a fist full of dried sardine powder which I grinded myself and threw it into the boiling pot. It was like a miracle! The sardine powder brought out an amazing taste! I was so pleased at the end that it actually tasted so good!
