There is a face in my pancake!

Hi again,

I made pancakes for breakfast today. I poured syrup and just by random chance, the syrup formed a face!

I made Korean Glass Noodles!

Hello Everyone,

I started cooking again!

Recently, I just mastered making Korean Glass noodles. My boyfriend used to complain I cook my Glass noodles too sweet and that it was inappropriate for a noodle dish to be that sweet. He was right. Korean's don't like sweet stuff. I should try to stay away from sweets. I got like 10 cavities.

I made Korean Glass noodles for my workplace and they loved it. They said that it was aromatically enchanting. I made some 2 days ago but I brought some to work and they all were like, *Sniff Sniff* what is this smell? It smells so good! So I decided to make them a dish for tmr. My tupperware of noodles were wiped clean by the end of the shift.

This is how I made it.

I toasted the white and black sesame seeds on a frying pan with no oil in it. Watch the frying pan to ensure you're just toasting the seeds, not burning it.

This is optional. If you like eggs, Fry the eggs first when the frying pan is clean. I personally try to fry then well done and completely cooked in a "easy over" fashion to get some yellow and white colour with the noodles. It looks so pretty in the end!

I pretty much followed Aeris Kitchen's Recipe :

But altered it a bit. I like the cook the vegetables most of them in water first. I try to be healthy. I would be honest since the veggies are boiled first, they come out sort of soggy and not crisp and firm like stir fried veggies.

Boil 1/2 a large onion in water for 6-7 mins , then strain
Boil 1 and 1/2 carrots (cutten in a julienne fashion) then strain
Wash Spinach well. Then Blanche it for 30 seconds in boiling water then rinse in cold water then squeeze the water from spinach as much as you can but be careful! Its fragile!

Stir fry all of the veggies quickly in a frying pan with cooking oil for 2-3 mins with soy sauce and sesame oil. Taste as you go because you don't want to make it too salt or too bland.

Next you would need to boil the glass noodles in hot boiling water. it only takes about 3-5 mins for it to cook but I would highly recommend taking out some noodles with chop sticks and rinsing it cold water and tasting it before you strain the noodles. One time, The glass noodle appeared cooked and I strained it. It wasn't cooked in the centre of the noodle! It was so annoying boiling it again. I personally enjoy a little bounce to the noodles with you try to chew on the noodles. If the noodles are overcooked, they get pretty mushy and gross.

I strain the noodles well and place it in a large metal bowl to mix all of the ingredients except for fried egg and sesame seeds.

Add 2 tablespoons of agave, Black pepper and more soy sauce and sesame oil. Slice the fried egg in to thin strips and place them on top after you are done seasoning the noodles and veggies. Sprinkle the sesame seeds on top.

With the flash
I prefer photos without the flash.

The noodles appear a bit cloudy white because it was cooling down. When glass noodles are heated they are transparent, its so pretty!
