Cluck Clucks Chicken & Waffles

Cluck Clucks Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Hello Chick Chicks!
I went to a new restaurant called Cluck Clucks located in the St. Lawrence area. I dropped by on February 5, 2016.

Owner Raza Hashim is a genius! It appeared that the resturant layout was done by a professional. It was actually Raza who was responsible for selecting the wall art, seating areas and the food which was very well executed and well-thought out. I couldn't help ask Raza if this was a franchise. Nope, it isn't.

First Combo: Cluck Yeah! with wedges
Boneless Chicken Breast in between a Fresh Jalapeno And Cheddar
Waffle With Coleslaw, Chipotle Aioli and Dill Mayo
It was a sweet, spicy (3/10 spicy) hot, creamy mess with cheesy notes and crunch from the coleslaw! All of the ingredients worked well together. This combo blew my mind!

Second Combo: Holy Cluck Combo (Yes, sandwich mode) with fries
Boneless Breast, Fresh Waffle with Maple Syrup
This was a hot, sticky, messy sandwich but I loved it! He used quality maple syrup.

Third Combo: Cluck Yeah! with wedges
Raza and his mother sat a couple of metres infront of us on the wooden bench seat. Raza browsed on his phone as he ate his lunch. He quietly observed us happily eat using his peripherals. When he saw Danny returning to order for a third combo he was shocked! His dark eyebrows raised up, his eyes gotten bigger and his body jerked back. Raza was probably thinking, "Whoa! These Asians can eat a lot!"

That potato wedge was about 8-10 inches long! Now that's cluckin' big wedge! It was very well seasoned! Danny and I both loved it!

I would give this place 10.0/5.0 if I could. Everything was fresh, flavourful and wonderful.  I haven't hit every single restaurant that specializes in fried chicken. This is the best fast food fried chicken I've ever had! It was soft, and extremely juicy in the inside, crispy on the outside. I must say that the jalapeño peppers inside of the waffle are real and may leave your lips burning for a minute. I didn't care because it was that delicious! The atmosphere was the colour of happiness and passion (mainly orange and red). The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly and informative.

I have worked in a franchise fried chicken restaurant and I know when I see quality chicken. I could not resist asking Raza if this chicken was halal. He answered with pride "Yes! It is!"

Danny, Raza and I lost track of time and were engaged in a passion conversation about quality chicken and how happy we were to stumble into Cluck Clucks that day. I have learned that Raza had worked several years in the food industry and he knows fried chicken at a scientific level. Additionally, Raza was responsible for the selection of art, menu, recipe and more. We complimented Raza and his mother and told them that we don't know what to eat at the CNE anymore. We usually order chicken and waffles there. And we probably no longer crave for Popeyes Chicken. We also praised him that this was truly a breathe of fresh air.  The Cluck Yeah! sandwich had familiar ingredients in his waffles and yet it is not normally used to make a waffle. It is a one of a kind! You won't find this anywhere else in Toronto. Raza had a good laugh. I think we made Raza, his mother and his friend who was the fryer very happy that day.

Some people use "The  Gateway Theory" to use stronger drugs. I think "The Gateway Theory" can be applied to almost anything. It can be clothes, purses, shoes and even food. Once you had something good, you can't go back and your expectations are raised.
